Birthday Suit

If I ever needed an excuse for a new dress (and trust me, I don't) then my birthday is a good a reason as any. Me and my friends were celebrating my 23rd in Leeds and I was set on finding something colourful for the occasion and so hot-footed it into Topshop.

And this happened...

Six items later I had the one.

I figured, hey if you want something colourful why not go all out in neon orange?! I'd tried the same playsuit on in a lovely blue but it just didn't have the same effect. Its from the Love label at Topshop (Sadly, I can't find a link online) and I just fell in love with the cut. Nipped in at the waist, flared at the shorts & with boning providing the shape at the front I have a feeling this will see me through many a summer.

Saturday Splurge

I may or may not have spent a little this weekend... oops.

I went to Newcastle with my best friend and, of course, hit Topshop as our first stop to find a new outfit for the night. I opted for this, and yes - that is the same top I purchased last weekend in grey.. I think i may have a slight obsession with this style. I usually go for dresses on nights out and only own a handful of skirts but wanted to change up my look a little.

I also popped into Space NK, the heaven of all beauty stores. It is everything you want in a shop - all of your favourite brands under one roof, with a calming environment in which to peruse. This element however is what makes venturing into the store a little worrying for your bank balance. Unlike being at a busy MAC counter where you just want to get in and out, Space NK gives you the chance to look and love.

I needed another Nars Laguna bronzer - one of my make-up staples for a number of years for its ability to be free of orange/muddy tones - but also wanted to add another blusher to my collection. I bought Orgasm last summer and have used it countless times since, but because they are so highly pigmented you only needed the lightest of touches, and it still looks brand new. I opted for Torrid, a warm coral colour with the slightest touch of shimmer.

I've promised myself I wont be making any purchases next weekend when I go back to Newcastle...we shall see.

Saturday Style

Oh Topshop.

Why do you have this power over me? One minute I'm walking through town minding my own business, the next I'm at the till punching in my pin number.

I went into town on Saturday to run a few errands and thought I'd nip into Topshop for a browse, I'd spied this top online a few days ago and liked the look of it, the dusty-grey colour is something that won't date and the sheerness of the fabric means it can be worn right up until the mercury finally decides to rise.

I also spotted these 'treggings'  - what will they think of next - and thought I'd "just try them on". Of course I quickly fell in love, they are soft and comfortable but dont have that awkwardness of the top area which is often a conundrum with leggings, thanks to the addition of a button and zip.

It's been a nice weekend, I popped out for a few too many cocktails with my best friend and today nursed my sore head with a movie and copious amounts of crisps.
